Thank you for sending this anon… Now I have a reason to write all of this.

Ryeowook didn’t win any broadcast prizes. True. But he certainly DID NOT f*** up his debut.

Yes the physical sales are always so high, in fact they’re always 7 times higher than the opponent’s. Also, most of the times, he would be first place when it comes to Voting on official sites. Digital and MV views are always low unfortunately. He only had 2 weeks of promotion, and that affects the ratings, too. Just like what happened to Super Junior during Devil.

but.

Saying that he f***ed up his debut is something I cannot bare to listen to. He might’ve not won any broadcast award, but his solo debut was certainly a success.

1) He topped charts:

  • “The Little Prince” album ranked first on leading album sales charts  Hanteo and Aladdin for the first week of February, when his album was released on the 28th of January.
  • “The Little Prince” album was already the 3rd best selling album of the year 4 days after release with 33,800 copies sold.
  • [After two weeks of the release] “The Little Prince” ranks #5 on billboard world albums chart on the week of February 13th.

2) Solo concert:

  • His solo concert was completely sold out in 5 minutes for all 3 days.
  • SM announced yesterday that 3 additional days have been added to the concert, 6 shows in total.

3) Fanmeeting in Japan:

  • He just debuted as a solo, but few days ago he was in Japan for a solo  F A N M E E T I N G. and we’re talking about ONE member of Super Junior here.

Our Ryeowook has been anticipating this album for years, and after 11 years, he finally released it. He has been working on it for the past few years, when he had a very tight schedule, that includes Super Junior promotions, KRY concerts, musicals, mc-ing, and daily radio show.

His album has got to be one of my favorite albums. Every song is flawless, and you can see how much he worked on it. He didn’t only sing ballads, but challenged other genres in this album when he’s known to be a ballad singer.

Discriminating someone’s hard work and dream, just because they haven’t received a mere award, is just malicious, a sign of ignorance and shallowness.

He has teared up countless times during the week of his debut. He was overwhelmed with emotions, he was nervous, excited, and so grateful to all SJ and ELF for supporting him. This meant so much to him.

This debut was his time to shine.. and he definitely did.

I respect him so much. He did such a great job. All I can say that I am so proud of him.

Ryeonngu, I love you~
